Britain is renowned for its beautiful meadows and fields. In fact millions flock to explore Britain’s vast countryside every year.
When you think of what you find in these fields, the answer is usually long grass, hay bales, occasionally wild flowers and poppies.
But did you know that you can grow lavender in British fields, too?
Most famously grown in the geographical region of Provence in Southern France, where much of the world’s organic lavender is obtained, England also has a ripening lavender market.
From June to late August many of these lavender farms are open to the general public, allowing you to stroll through the miles of purple haze, pick your own or buy homemade products including essential oils.
And what’s even better – you can find these lavender farms across England.
Here are five of some of the best lavender fields in England – as suggested by Instagramers who have been lucky enough to visit them over the past 3 months.
